Installation Guide

This guide will walk you through the process of installing the Datora Bulk Gift Cards app in your Shopify store.

Prerequisites​

Before installing the app, ensure you have:

  • An active Shopify store
  • Admin access to your Shopify store

Installation Steps​

Step 1: Find the App​

  1. Visit the Shopify App Store
  2. Search for "Datora Bulk Gift Cards" or visit the app's listing page directly
  3. Click on the app to view its details

Step 2: Install the App​

  1. Click the Add app button on the app listing page
  2. You will be redirected to your Shopify admin panel
  3. Review the permissions that the app requires:
    • Read and write gift cards
    • Read products
    • Read customers
  4. Click Install app to confirm

Step 3: Select a Plan​

After installation, you'll be directed to the app's welcome screen:

  1. Review Available Plans: Compare the Free, Basic, Premium, and Ultimate plans to find the right fit for your needs
  2. Select a Plan: Choose a pricing plan based on how many gift cards you need to create per job
  3. Confirm: Complete the plan selection to activate the app

Verification​

To verify that the app is installed correctly:

  1. Open the Datora Bulk Gift Cards app from your Shopify admin
  2. You should see the main dashboard
  3. Try creating a small test job with a few gift cards (you can deactivate them later)
  4. Check that the gift cards appear in your Shopify admin under Gift cards

Now that the app is installed, you're ready to:

  • Get Started - Create your first gift card job
  • Explore the Settings page to configure preferences like Slack notifications

Troubleshooting Installation Issues​

App doesn't appear after installation​

If the app doesn't appear in your Shopify admin:

  1. Refresh your browser
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Log out and log back into your Shopify admin
  4. Check if the app appears in the Apps section

Permission errors​

If you encounter permission errors:

  1. Make sure you're logged in as the store owner or have admin privileges
  2. Try reinstalling the app
  3. Contact support at apps@datora.de

Gift cards not appearing in Shopify admin​

If created gift cards don't appear in your Shopify admin:

  1. Wait for the job to complete (check the progress indicator in the app)
  2. Navigate to Products > Gift cards in your Shopify admin
  3. Verify that your Shopify plan supports gift cards
  4. Contact support if the issue persists
