Downloading Gift Card Codes

The Datora Bulk Gift Cards app allows you to download your gift card codes as CSV files for distribution, record-keeping, or import into other systems.

Single Job Download​

Download the gift card codes from any completed job:

  1. Navigate to the job detail page
  2. Click Download CSV
  3. The file will be downloaded to your device

The CSV file contains all gift card codes from the job, ready for distribution or processing.

Batch Download​

Select multiple jobs and download all their gift card codes as a single CSV file:

  1. On the dashboard, select the jobs you want to include (up to 50 jobs)
  2. Click Download Selected
  3. All codes from the selected jobs are combined into a single CSV file

Batch download is useful when you need to compile codes from multiple jobs for a single distribution or report.

CSV Format Options​

When downloading, you can configure the CSV output format:

Separator​

Choose the delimiter used between fields in the CSV file:

  • Comma (,): Standard CSV format, compatible with most spreadsheet applications
  • Semicolon (;): Common in European locales where commas are used as decimal separators

Code Case​

Choose the letter case for gift card codes:

  • Uppercase: All letters in the code are capitalized (e.g., ABCD1234EFGH5678)
  • Lowercase: All letters in the code are lowercased (e.g., abcd1234efgh5678)

Code Format​

Choose how the code is presented:

  • Original: The raw code as generated (e.g., ABCD1234EFGH5678)
  • Formatted: The code with separators applied, if the code formatter was used (e.g., ABCD-1234-EFGH-5678)

Download Windows​

The availability of downloads depends on your plan:

After the download window expires, the CSV download will no longer be available for that job. Gift card codes remain active in your Shopify store regardless of the download window.

tip

On the Free plan, make sure to download your gift card codes within 1 day of job creation. On Premium, you have up to 1 month. Basic and Ultimate plans have no time limit.

Best Practices​

Timely Downloads​

  • Download your CSV files promptly after job completion, especially on plans with limited download windows
  • Store downloaded files securely, as they contain active gift card codes

File Management​

  • Use descriptive file names when saving downloaded CSVs
  • Keep a backup copy in a secure location
  • Delete CSV files after distribution to reduce the risk of code leakage

Distribution​

  • Use the batch download feature when compiling codes for large distributions
  • Choose the CSV separator that matches your spreadsheet application's locale
  • Use the formatted code option for codes that will be manually entered by customers
